In the midst of an action-packed Austrian Grand Prix, Fernando Alonso's aggressive manoeuvre at turn 3 became a significant talking point. On lap 21, Alonso, driving for Aston Martin, attempted a bold overtake on Zhou Guanyu of the Stake F1 Team. Zhou had just emerged from the pit lane and was engaged in a battle with Yuki Tsunoda as they approached the tight turn.

Alonso, known for his fierce driving style, arrived with too much speed, clipping Zhou's rear right tyre. The impact sent Zhou off the track, disrupting his race and raising concerns about Alonso's move. The stewards immediately took note of the incident, determining that Alonso's action was reckless and warranted a penalty.

As a result, Alonso was handed a ten-second time penalty, significantly affecting his race strategy and positioning. This penalty highlighted the fine line between aggressive racing and reckless driving, with Alonso's move being deemed a violation of the latter
