Zhou had just emerged from the pit lane and was engaged in a battle with Yuki Tsunoda as they approached the tight turn.

The impact sent Zhou off the track, disrupting his race and raising concerns about Alonso's move. The stewards immediately took note of the incident, determining that Alonso's action was reckless and warranted a penalty.

As a result, Alonso was handed a ten-second time penalty, significantly affecting his race strategy and positioning. This penalty highlighted the fine line between aggressive racing and reckless driving, with Alonso's move being deemed a violation of the latter
