Max Verstappen registers 'cake-walk' sprint win in Austrian Grand Prix, McLaren duo completes podium, check results

Max Verstappen secured a commanding victory in the sprint race at the Austrian Grand Prix, showcasing his dominance by leading the pack. He crossed the finish line at Red Bull Ring ahead of McLaren’s dynamic duo, Oscar Piastri and Lando Norris.

The race began with an electrifying start, with several intense battles shaping the early laps. However, as the race progressed, the competition stabilized, setting the stage for an intra-team showdown between the McLaren drivers. 

Oscar Piastri, despite being less experienced, managed to hold off his teammate Lando Norris, securing a well-earned second place. Norris, displaying consistent speed and skill, followed closely in third. Mercedes’ George Russell maintained a solid fourth position, showing consistent pace throughout the race. 

He was followed by Ferrari’s Carlos Sainz, who secured fifth place, and Lewis Hamilton, another Mercedes driver, who finished in sixth. The positions of these drivers remained unchanged from the start, reflecting a steady performance.

One of the standout performers of the sprint was Charles Leclerc. Starting further back, the Ferrari driver fought his way up the field, demonstrating impressive racecraft and determination. Leclerc’s relentless drive saw him overtake several competitors, including the Red Bull of Sergio Perez, to finish in seventh place. After a challenging race, Perez managed to secure the final points-paying position in eighth.
