The Mexican Grand prix opening lap is again a disaster start this year as Alex Albon and Yuki Tsunoda crashed out on the opening lap of the race and in the first corner. Yuki got a better start ahead of Albon and due to the tight narrow track, he didn't have space and got hit by Albon, crashing out of the race.
Opening Disaster in Mexico
Alex Albon on the other hand also had a good start but was squeezed between Yuki Tsunoda and Pierre Gasly. Tsunoda’s rear tyre collided with Alex Albons's front left suspension damaging it and ending Albon’s weekend. Every year the Mexican Grand prix start becomes a disaster as last year Sergio perez collided with Charles Leclerc on turn 1 of the first lap after the Mexican turned into Leclerc at the first corner which ended his race and also a good start.
The Safety car was called out as the crash of Yuki Tsunoda was so big he would have ended George Russell's race in the replays we can see Yuki’s VCARB car was flying out behind Russell’s Mercedes on turn 1. But out of all this chaos, Verstappen found himself in the lead and he was ahead of Ferrari’s Carlos Sainz and after the safety car, he will be leading the race in Mexico.
Yuki Tsunoda and Alex Albon both had crashes during their Mexican Grand prix weekend. Alex Albon was the first driver to crash in this year's Mexican GP. He crashed with Ollie Bearman after an oversteer in the practice session. The Williams driver didn't see the Ferrari car in front of him he collided with the front left and spun straight to the wall.
Yuki Tsunoda crashed during the qualifying session 2 after he lost control of his car near the stadium of the Mexican Grand prix circuit. Yuki missed his Q3 opportunity and now he missed his race finish and opportunity to score some points ahead of his teammate Liam Lawson. Both the VCARB drivers will be fighting for the big Red Bull seat next year as Sergio Perez is struggling there to score points and he is having many issues with his car setup.
