VCARB driver Daniel Ricciardo has faced disciplinary action from the stewards following an incident during the final practice session for the British Grand Prix. The Red Bull driver admitted that his actions, which occurred in a wet FP3 session at Silverstone, were not appropriate and resulted in a reprimand from the officials.

The incident in question took place in the early stages of the session, with Ricciardo seen weaving through the fast lane in the pit area. This behaviour immediately caught the attention of the stewards, who decided to conduct a full investigation.

Here is the video:

Upon review, the stewards examined video footage, team radio communications, and in-car video evidence. They also heard from Ricciardo and a representative from the VCARB team before reaching their decision.

In their official statement, the stewards explained the context and reasoning behind the reprimand. "The team (VCARB) instructed the driver to keep the temperatures up in the tyres on the way into the pits, and the driver chose to weave when in the fast lane," read the statement.

"Several other team personnel were present in other team pits immediately adjacent to the fast lane, and there was the risk that the weaving of Car 3 might have resulted in contact with these personnel, especially considering the wet conditions."

Ricciardo himself acknowledged the potential danger of his actions. He admitted that his weaving in the fast lane was "not a good look" and assured the stewards that such behaviour would not be repeated in the future. This reprimand marks Daniel Ricciardo’s first of the season, serving as a warning to both him and other drivers about the importance of maintaining safety protocols, particularly in adverse weather conditions.
