This year we will see two Australian Formula 1 drivers; one is McLaren driver Oscar Piastri, and the next one is Alpine driver Jack Doohan. The 21-year-old Queenslander was the son of MotoGP legend and multiple-time world champion Mick Doohan. He debuted for Alpine at the Yas Marina circuit in the 2024 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.

Although he debuted in 2024, the 2025 F1 season will be a rookie year for the youngster. In the last couple of years, there has always been uncertainty over drivers at Alpine, starting from Fernando Alonso to Esteban Ocon. The team is a pressure house, and drivers are always at risk of losing their seats. The team culture there also demands results rather than performance. Even an experienced driver and two-time world champion, Fernando Alonso, ran away from the team.

Jack Doohan is also at risk, as there were speculations that he only has six races in his contract with the team, and if he doesn't score many points, then he would lose his job to someone else. The Alpine team principal has already cleared that there is no place for emotions in Formula 1, and it's all business. So the young Aussie is under more pressure to perform this year, and we hope he has every talent to stay in Formula 1.

Before his season started, Jack was enjoying his time in his home country, Australia, as for the most part of his life he was away from the country. The first race of the 2025 season will be in Australia, so Doohan can enjoy his time in his home a little longer. He was seen at the Brisbane Open Tennis tournament and was supporting WTA No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka, who just beat Andreeva in the semi-finals. She will meet Kudermetova in the finals.

Aryna was one of the big supporters of the Alpine team during the final race last year, in which Doohan made his debut. So the two met, took pictures, and posted them on social media. This season will be a real test for many rookies, like Bearman, Bortoleto, Antonelli, and Hadjar, all debuting in Albert Park, Melbourne, in March.
