Another dramatic incident unfolded at the Canadian Grand Prix as Carlos Sainz and Alex Albon collided, leading to another safety car deployment. The bizarre accident occurred when Sainz spun and then reversed on track, striking Albon's Williams and sending it into the wall.

Albon's car was left stricken by the wall, and the impact forced him to retire from the race. The incident added another layer of chaos to an already eventful race, necessitating the safety car once more. Sainz, unable to continue, also retired his car, marking the second Ferrari exit of the race.

Here is the video:

Earlier, Charles Leclerc was forced to retire due to engine struggles, compounding a difficult day for the Scuderia team. The series of retirements and accidents has significantly reshuffled the grid and presented new strategic challenges for the remaining drivers and teams.

Can the Mercedes duo make a comeback?

The safety car periods have become crucial in altering race strategies and positions, particularly affecting those vying for podium finishes. Both Mercedes drivers George Russell and Lewis Hamilton pitted and got a new pair of Medium and Hard tyres receptively.

This move might help them after the restart of the safety car and affected McLarens who didn’t do that. As the race continues, the focus will be on how teams adapt to these rapid changes and navigate the treacherous conditions at the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve.
