F1 2024 Worst Performing drivers

5. Valtteri Bottas (Sauber F1)

The Finnish driver finished last alongside Logan Sargeant and Jack Doohan without scoring any points this season. What makes the difference here is Bottas raced for one complete season, unlike Doohan and Sargeant.

The Sauber team had a poor machine which is understandable but they showed some good progress in the year end. His teammate Zhou Guanyu brought 4 points by finishing eighth at the Qatar Grand prix. Bottas tried very hard to score points at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix but his mistakes cost him and made him retire.

4. Daniel Ricciardo (VCARB)

The Aussie Veteran made it to our unfortunate list because of his poor performance and losing to his teammate Yuki Tsunoda in several races. Max Verstappen’s former teammate could have made it to the Red Bull team if he had performed well or reached the targets assigned to him before the beginning of the season. Finally, the team decided to part ways with him or sack him after the Singapore Grand Prix, which was seen as disrespect to the 8-time Grand prix winner. The VCARB team and Red Bull leadership had their reasons.

3. Franco Colapinto (Williams Racing)

The Williams driver who made an outstanding debut and impressed every other team can't carry the same momentum after that. The Latin American driver's several big crashes cost his team some million dollars as repair bills and at one point they went short of Spare due to their drivers back to back-to-back big accidents.

It all started in the rain-hit Interlagos circuit and then a 50G impact crash at the Las Vegas GP qualifying followed by heartbreak retirements in Qatar and Abu Dhabi for which he doesnt need to be blamed. But Many teams seeing his big crashes in those two races backed off from signing him.

2. Lance Stroll (Aston Martin)

In the top 2, we have the Canadian driver who raced most Grand Prix races for his country Lance Stroll. The Son of a millionaire and Team owner is the only reason we still see him on the grid considering his performance over the years. The Aston Martin team couldnt progress to the next level because of Stroll’s poor form.

Stroll said his car doesnt feel confident enough to drive but with the same car, his teammate Fernando Alonso is scoring consistent points for his team. If Lance had shown some good performance this year then Aston Martin could at least tried for for fourth place against Mercedes.

1. Sergio Perez (Red Bull)

The Mexican driver Sergio Perez made it to the top of our list as the worst performer. He lost to his teammate Max verstappem who finished first with more than 285 points lead over him. We accept the Red Bull car had balance issues and some aerodynamic issues.

But Max verstappen won two races with the same issues in Brazil and the Qatar Grand prix. Sergio Perez lost his form and couldnt make a comeback throughout the season. Red Bull lost their constructors championship because of Checo’s poor form and they paid some additional millions to repair the damages cost by Perez in races.
