2025 is a rookie year in F1 as we have 5 rookie drivers debuting at the pinnacle of Motorsport. With the regulations changing in 2026, Formula 1 teams are eager to introduce the future world champions under their brand name and test their talent level.
Most Anticipated F1 drivers 2025
This season we will see the highest number of individual rookies entering Formula 1 and Mercedes, Haas F1, Kick Sauber, RB Bulls, and Alpine will have fresh legs driving their cars. So let's rank the most anticipated Rookie driver of the year 2025.
5. Jack Doohan (Alpine)
The Australian driver debuted last year in the Abu Dhabi Grand prix, but we can still call him a rookie because he has raced for only one Grand Prix. The Alpine F1 team is a pressure house and the Aussie should prove his worth from the start.
There were also speculations that he could be fired after 6 races if he doesnt perform well. The team has a history of taking bold actions like this as Esteban Ocon was sent before the completion of the 2024 F1 season. We hope Doohan stays with the team as he has enough talent to be in Formula 1.
4. Olliver Bearman (Haas F1)
The rookie already made his debut on Formula 1 in 2024 as a substitute for Carlos Sainz jr at the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix. He is also the youngest driver to drive a Ferrari beating Leclerc. The British driver has signed full-time for the Haas F1 team and will partner Esteban Ocon. Under Ayao Komatsu he will learn many new things as a Formula 1 driver and the Haas team is looking like a future giant. He will also be within the sights of Ferrari as he could be their future driver after Lewis Hamilton.
3.Kimi Antonelli (Mercedes)
The young Italian gave a heartbreak to George Russell at the Italian Grand prix after crashing his car in the Parabolica corner. But before the crash, the young driver showed great speed and composure which was very impressive. This year he is filling the big void of Lewis Hamilton and it's not easy. Kimi Antonelli will be under the direct guidance of Toto Wolff and George Russell. So 2025 will be a complete learning curve for his future endeavours.
2. Isack Hadjar (RB Bulls)
Formula 2’s runner-up missed his chance to win the title last year but achieved the deserved place. Reaching Formula 1 is a big achievement and Hadjar has done it with ease. Red Bull’s favourite child will drive for their junior team RB Bulls this season. He will join Yuki Tsunoda replacing Liam Lawson as the new driver for the team. Red Bull is always known for promoting junior drivers (forget Yuki) so the Frenchman has a good chance of driving the main Red Bull car in a few years.

1.Gabriel Bortoleto (Kick Sauber)
The 2024 F2 champion and the man from Senna’s land, Gabriel Bortoleto reached Formula 1 with pure driving talent. The Future Audi team preferred him over Mick Schumacher and the Sauber drivers Bottas and Guanyu. This shows his talent and the Brazilian driver was guided by F1 legend Fernando Alonso.
Gabriel is seen as the future Formula 1 champion and could also surprise us this season like Franco. Sauber will have a big transformation next year with Audi taking over the team and Bortoleto is seen as a long-term investment by the team.
