After the conclusion of the Miami Grand Prix, several Formula 1 drivers have been summoned to meet with the stewards. Haas driver Kevin Magnussen, who faced numerous penalties throughout the weekend, is under scrutiny for a potential violation of Article 55.11 of the sporting regulations.
This concerns his decision to enter the pit lane during a safety car period without changing his tyres, leading to a 10-second in-race time penalty following an incident involving Logan Sargeant of Williams. Additionally, Oscar Piastri and Carlos Sainz are also facing inquiries from the stewards due to their on-track altercation.
Sainz made an overtaking attempt on Piastri at Turn 17, resulting in contact and damage to Piastri's front wing. This necessitated a pit stop for Piastri, causing him to drop down the rankings to 19 and extinguishing his chances of scoring points.
Another Piastri-Sainz incident attracts stewards!
Furthermore, an earlier incident in the race has been reviewed by the stewards, prompted by Sainz's claim that he was forced off the track by Oscar Piastri at Turn 11. However, after careful consideration, the stewards decided against further investigation into this specific incident.
These post-race deliberations highlight the importance of adhering to racing regulations and the consequences of on-track incidents, shaping the outcomes of individual races and influencing drivers' standings in the championship.
However, speaking about the race McLaren rider Lando Norris clinched his first ever Grand Prix victory of his career. He also ended Max Verstappen’s winning streak at Miami. Notably, Verstappen had won last season’s sprint and GP and this year’s sprint on Saturday.
It’s worth noting that the clash between Kevin Magnussen and Logan Sargeant pulled out a full track Safety car which forced Verstappen to lose his lead. Meanwhile, Norris continued to dominate since then as he didn’t let a chance slip out of his hands.
