The driver’s market has been the most buzzing thing in the ongoing Calander year. Whether it be for Formula 1 or MotoGP fans are expecting some shocking decisions as soon as summer arrives. The latest talk of the town is Aprilia rider Maverick Vinales.

Vinales has been one of the most successful riders of the season with two back-to-back sprint wins and some podium finishes. With this, he arriving in Spain for the upcoming weekend in red hot form and an additional value. Notably, Vinales’ contract with Aprilia will end this season making him a hot property in the driver’s market.

This news has a great prospect for him as he is likely to sign a lucrative deal with Honda for the next two seasons. The reported deal is likely to make him the second-highest-paid rider on the track just after Fabio Quartararo. Quartararo recently signed a deal with Yamaha which reportedly gives him 12 million Euro annually.

Will Vinales leave Aprilia?

This is a tricky question as two contrasting theories are being reported about the financial condition of the Aprilia team. The first report cites that Aprilia was in a race with Yamaha to rope in Fabio Quartararo but failed to do so because of its poor offer. According to reports Aprilia had offered a 4 million Euro contract to the racer. This indicates the financial situation of the team making it a so-called ‘sinking boat’ for Maverick Vinales. On the other hand, another report suggests that Aprilia is looking to save a huge amount for Vinales which is why they offered a bare minimum to Quartararo.

However, Vinales faces a significant decision as Honda's offer, reportedly surpassing the contracts of all riders except Quartararo, may sway him. He must weigh the competitive prospects with Aprilia against the financial lure of Honda. The latter's robust financial backing raises hopes for their revival, especially after a lacklustre season.

Additionally, with Luca Marini and Johann Zarco already onboard for 2025, Honda aims to secure LCR as a satellite team for the upcoming year. Meanwhile, Vinales is aware of a potentially lucrative opportunity from KTM. This dilemma pits ambition against financial gain.
