The Red Bull F1 team faces major issues with its 2025 F1 car the RB21. As Max Verstappen goes into the F1 2025 season to defend his title for the fifth time, he has a big setback. According to some insiders, the RB 21 car has some potential issues, with its engine power output and performance.
Unlike last season, Max will face immense pressure from all his big rivals McLaren, Ferrari and Mercedes. Especially from Lando Norris as in 2024, he was within touching distance against Max Verstappen. And this year he is expected to dominate the grid earlier than expected.
Verstappen is now a lone warrior as Checo Perez is out of the team. The Youngster Liam Lawson is racing his first season with Red Bull and we still do not know how much he is capable of driving and helping Verstappen. So Verstappen is the only one responsible for Red Bull's Success and Failure this year.
Max Verstappen is the only solution
What is the solution for all these issues? The Answer given by Red Bull management is Max Verstappen. They believe Max can match all the power deficits and concerns with his driving skills and ability. Red Bull boss Helmut Marko said “Let’s assume that we are not really at a disadvantage in terms of engine. One or two-tenths behind are manageable with Max.”
This shows how much Red Bull desperately relies on Max and his abilities to win races under immense pressure. He's got all the capacity to handle any situation in F1, as in 2024 he proved at the Brazilian Grand Prix and won the world championship with the third fastest car. Even many of his rival drivers acknowledge that he is the best on the 2025 grid.
We can easily predict that the 2025 Red Bull car will be made to suit Max Verstappen’s driving comfort and Liam Lawson should adopt it as early as possible. If not he will end up like Sergio Perez and we can also see a mid-season swap between Liam Lawson and Yuki Tsunoda. So this 2025 season will be the year of unpredictability.
