Williams F1 driver Carlos Sainz has now blasted his former team Red Bull for snubbing him citing the ‘No top two drivers’ Policy. Sainz was desperate to find a seat after Lewis Hamilton’s Ferrari deal. Some speculations say he spoke to big teams like Mercedes, McLaren and Red Bull.

But Nobody wanted him as he was one of the best drivers on the F1 2025 grid. Signing him will affect their peace as he likes to race with his teammates. Red Bull is the one particular team, he is looking to join but the Milton Keynes camp rejected his call as Max Verstappen would find it difficult to win against him.

They snubbed him by extending Sergio Perez's contract to two more years. Finally, Sainz got a racing seat in the Williams Racing team. After his signing, Red Bull replaced Sergio Perez with newcomer Liam Lawson. Team boss Helmut Marko admitted that the team culture when Carlos Sainz and Max Verstappen raced as teammates was quite toxic. All Red Bull wanted is a wingman for Max Verstappen and not a competitor. Sainz will never be a wingman for anyone as he always likes to compete with everyone.

Now the Spaniard has spoken about teams rejecting to have two top drivers. He said “Lando and I, Charles and I or Alex and I – two top drivers. If I were a team boss in the future, that’s what I would look for. I don’t understand why you wouldn’t want two drivers who push each other and lead together.”

He also spoke about the team culture at Williams and even appreciated their approach towards him. Sainz added “Williams are treating me in the best possible way because I come from a team like Ferrari who are ahead in many ways right now. From the first test, I have felt that every time I have said something I have been listened to, noted, consulted in the factory and it has come back to me.

The attention that has been paid to me from the first moment is something that has surprised me and is something that I like because I think that is where I will contribute the most.” Williams is betting on Carlos Sainz and they believe him as a driver who can bring back the glory of the Williams Racing team like the '90s era. They even got a new title sponsor and are rebuilding their team from scratch.
