Established superstar in Tamil cinema Actor Ajith Kumar widely called ‘Thala’ by his fans is set to return to Autosport after 13 long years. The renowned actor was also a racer. He was seen at Dubai Autodrome driving Super Cars and setting lap times.
He is currently acting in Tamil Films called Good Bad Ugly and Vidamuyarchi. After completing these films he is set to return to racing after 13 years. Actor Ajith Kumar is a well-known Superstar in Tamil cinema he is often compared with Thalapathy Vijay as both actors are considered equals in fandom and acclaim.
'Thala' is returning to racing
The official Instagram handle of FMSCI (Federation of Motor Sports Club of India) shared the actor's return to motor racing. Talks are going on with many teams in the UK, Middle East, and Europe. The actor also started his training sessions in Dubai to return to Motorsport.
The post said “Indian film Actor, Ajith is keen on keen on making a comeback to motor racing. He is Planning on participating in the European GT4 championship in 2025. Negotiations are on with Teams based in the UK, Europe & Middle East. Sponsors too are excited and keen on him coming on board. Hopefully, Ajith will have an update on this in the near future.
Ajith Kumar Started his racing career in motorcycles taking part in the national motorcycle racing championship. Post intensive training programs in the Pro Karts and Following his successful participation in the National Single-seater Racing Championship, he then progressed to the international arena by participating in the Asian Formula BMW championship, and the British Formula 3 championship - Securing Podium finishes at the Donington Park and Knockhill circuits and then moved on to Participate in the FIA Formula 2 Championship."
He was also greeted by his mentor Akbar Ebrahim for planning to return to racing. He said “I’m really happy to hear Ajith is making a comeback to the sport. He is very talented and extremely passionate in whatever he does and is a true brand ambassador for the sport.”
Former Formula 1 Driver Narain Karthikeyan a close friend of the actor also greeted the actor on his return to racing. He shared a picture with the actor, congratulating him on his racing career restart. He said "Good Luck Thala it's privileged to mentor you and get you back into racing."
