MotoGP Practice Results: Francesco Bagnaia Tops the Malaysian GP Practice session despite Martin's challenge

The Ducati Rider is fantastic in his lap times as Championship leader Jorge Martin crashed during the final session of the Malaysian Grand Prix.

The reigning world champion Francesco Bagnaia powers to the top of the Malaysian Grand Prix Practice session despite an early challenge from his rival Jorge Martin. The two powerhouses of the MotoGP collided in the MotoGP Practice session for the title lead and Pecco Bagnaia somehow found his Rhythm back as he leads both the practice sessions in Malaysia.

Day one is very impressive for the two-time world champion and he looks like he is not giving up his title without a fight. The Sepang International Circuit hosting the Malaysian Grand Prix has now become the title decider between Jorge Martin and Francesco Bagnaia.

Again it's the reigning world champion

The Practice session is led by the reigning world champion and Ducati Factory rider Francesco Bagnaia with a lap time of 1.57.679 followed by Prima Pramac Racing rider and championship leader Jorge Martin with a lap time of 1.57.729s.

Enea Bastianini of Ducati finished third in the practice session, followed by Maverick Vinales of Aprilia Racing in fourth. Gresini Racing team rider Alex Marquez and Monster Energy Yamaha rider Fabio Quartararo finished fifth and sixth. Martin’s Teammate Morbidelli finished seventh followed by Alex Rins at eighth. KTM Factory rider Jack Miller completed his practice session with ninth followed by Grasini Racing team rider Marc Marquez in tenth.

KTM Gas Gas Tech 3 rider Pedro Acosta had an average session as he finished 11th followed by VR46 Team rider Marco Bezzecchi at 12th.  The Frenchman Johann Zarco ended his practice session by settling in the 13th position followed by KTM rider Brad Binder and Idemitsu Honda LCR rider Takaaki Nakagami in the 14th and 15th.

The next six spots were taken by Track house racing rider R.Fernandez, Aprilia Racing rider Alexi Espargaro, Luca Marini (Repsol Honda), A.Fernandez (Red Bull Gas Gas Tech 3 racing), Joan Mir (Repsol Honda), A.Lannone (VR46 Team) and L.Savadori  (Trackhuouse Racing).

Tomorrow there will be Free practice session no 2 followed by Qualifying 1, and Qualifying 2 and then the day will end with the sprint race of 10 laps at the Sepang International circuit. This Sprint race is very important for both Jorge Martin and Francesco Bagnaia as they will look to maximize their points this weekend before heading to Valencia for the final race of the championship.
