Disaster Start

The opening lap was great for all the riders, and within seconds, it turned into a disaster. Alex Marquez took the lead and was approaching the first corner. He lost control and slid off the track, and Marc Marquez became the new race leader. Within a few corners, Espargaro took out Morbidelli while cutting a corner. Then Marc Marquz had a low side and crashed out of the race. With back-to-back crashes and oil spillage, the race was red-flagged.

Race Restart

With just 2 laps, the race was red-flagged, and all the riders became eligible for the restart. The crashed riders ran to their garage to change their race suit, and the race was again restarted.

Ducati lost control

Many thought Ducatis would be stronger in the restart, but it all went in vain as Marc Marquez, Francesco Bagnaia and Alex Marquez all lost their lead within a few corners and Yamaha rider Fabio Quartararo took the lead. He was followed by another Yamaha rider, Jack Miller and Marco Bezzecchi. Alex Marquez was the only Ducati rider inside the top 5.

Heartbreak for Fabio Quartararo

As Fabio Quartararo was leading the race by more than 4.5 seconds, the ride height device of the Yamaha malfunctioned, and he was forced to retire.
