Kimi replaces Hamilton

Kimi Antonelli made headlines after he was announced as the replacement driver for 7-time world champion Lewis Hamilton who will be moving to Ferrari next year in a multi-year deal. The teenager was given the chance to drive a Formula 1 car in his home race at Monza. The Italian took George Russell's car for a spin during the practice session. He was going well until the Parabolica corner and he crashed straight into the wall causing big damage to George’s car.

The damage was very big as it went to the Mercedes W15 Chassis. After the damage, Mercedes mechanics worked very hard and they got the damage repaired before the FP2 session. After going on the track, George Russell complained about something moving around in his cockpit. He finished seventh and Mercedes were unable to beat Ferrari and McLaren in terms of pace. Russell was not happy with his car being crashed before the race which cost him.
