In the sprint race of American GP Maverick Vinales registers his second sprint victory in the ongoing season. Being in red-hot form Aprilia Racing rider has been phenomenal in Texas Circuit. He has been amazing from Pole to final position as he outplayed his closest rival Marc Marquez by almost two seconds.
The front-runner to win the race Jorge Martin finished third as he lost some lead in mid-time. It is Vinales' other win on Saturday, following his victory in Portugal last month. This time, he dominated the race from start to finish, unlike his last win where he faced strong competition.
Vinales has looked comfortable on the track since the qualification round. He was considered the top contender going into the race after setting a new lap record in qualifying. Vinales held onto his lead right from the start, which was a relief for him considering he struggled with bad starts in previous races.
Marc Marquez led the pack again!
Meanwhile, Marc Marquez overtook Pedro Acosta early on, joining Vinales at the front. Together, they quickly pulled away from the rest of the pack. Despite being under pressure Marquez has been phenomenal by pulling off a podium finish that too ahead of Martin.
The defending champion Martin had a poor start but got into rhythm while making it to the halfway mark. At that point, he surpassed Acosta to clinch the third position making a podium finish.
Others like Francesco Bagnaia, who holds two championships, had a last-minute change to his bike's front fender before the race started. However, he struggled as he started the race with a wheelie, dropping from fourth to tenth right at the first turn.
Throughout the race, the Ducati star couldn't quite recover and only managed to finish eighth. Vinales’ teammate, Aleix Espargaro, tried to catch up to Acosta in the final laps but couldn't make a move. In the closing moments of the race, Enea Bastianini and Jack Miller were battling for sixth place, with Bastianini eventually taking the lead.
They finished ahead of Bagnaia, Raul Fernandez, Franco Morbidelli, Miguel Oliveira, and Brad Binder, who showed an impressive performance by climbing up from 17th place after a fall during qualifying.
