The recently concluded MotoGP Spanish Grand Prix 2024 has been a thriller for fans and participants. In the final moments of the 25-lap race, Francesco Bagnaia faced Marc Marquez. The race was a thriller as Marquez lost his third consecutive race at the home track.

However, after the race Marquez said that it has been a pleasure to learn from Bagnaia at Jerez. Notably, The two have fought on the race track many times before. Bagnaia won his first MotoGP race in 2021 at Aragon, but only after a lot of pressure from the eight-time world champion.

Speaking with media after the race Marquez said, “For me, as I said in Portimao to him, it’s a pleasure to fight against the world champion and the reference in the Ducati group. In the Spanish GP, one more time, I was on his level and I was fighting against him.”

“I had the speed enough to try to overtake. So, for me already, it’s a pleasure to learn from him. Still, he has some stronger points than me, but let’s see if in the future I can be a little bit better and closer to him.”

'It’s too early', says Marc Marquez

Further speaking about his current performances and position in driver’s standings Marquez believes that ‘It’s too early’ to speak about it. “For me, it’s too early,” he said of the championship.

“It’s not like ‘no, I don’t want the championship’. But it’s too early to think about the championship because I know, and I already understand, that there will be race tracks where I will struggle.

“But let’s see. Still, at the moment we need to keep going, with this bike, I feel some of the strong points of my riding style are a little bit weaker, but one of the weak points is a little bit stronger.” It’s worth noting that Marc Marquez won last in 2019 and it is his fourth season without title.
