This 2025 New Year saw Lewis Hamilton become an official Ferrari driver, a historic moment for Hamilton fans and the Tifosi. Many people say the British driver is such a big figure in F1 that signing him for the team was the biggest deal the Maranello team made in many years.
Hamilton raced for two other F1 teams in his life. He started his career as a McLaren driver and then moved to Mercedes in 2013, where he had all the success. On both occasions, Lewis was not a big celebrity compared to his stature now.
Ferrari signed Lewis Hamilton for some million dollars. The signing earned them a billion dollars in investments in a single day. Fred Vasseur, Lewis Hamilton’s former boss and current Ferrari Team Principal, was the biggest reason for all of these, and many are appreciating his move.

Team boss gives 'suicidal warning'
But there is no deal without criticism, and this time former F1 team principal Eddie Jordan said signing Hamilton was a suicidal decision by Ferrari chairman John Elkann. He feels that Carlos Sainz deserved to be their driver, and disrupting the seat will cause peace and harmony inside the team to collapse.
The biggest concern was how the team was going to manage two of the great drivers. Leclerc is very young and energetic, and Lewis Hamilton, with all his experience, wants to prove he is the best driver of all time. This will lead to an ego clash inside the team and cause them to make mistakes.
Ferrari's leadership could face all the challenges to make the team perform well. Hamilton was always known for dominating his teammate starting from Alonso, Rosberg and Bottas over the years. Charles Leclerc also dominated his teammates Marcus Erickson, Sebastian vettel, and Carlos Sainz. So Fred Vasseur has to make the biggest decision in terms of managing the drivers. But he managed the boiling heat between Carlos Sainz and Charles Leclerc in the 2024 season.
