McLaren and Lando Norris have found a way to be the fastest car at the Qatar Grand Prix Sprint Qualifying session. The Losail circuit hosts the final sprint race of the season. With the constructors title still on between the top three teams McLaren, Ferrari and Red Bull. Every point is very important for the teams to secure the Constructors championship this year. But McLaren kept their nerves and put on a great lap time from both Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri giving them the chance to lead the sprint race in front ahead of the Ferrari's.
The two Ferraris of Carlos Sainz and Charles Leclerc finished 4th and 5th ahead of world champion Max Verstappen who managed to take his car to sixth place ahead of Lewis Hamilton. George Russell was the big surprise hear as he split the two McLarens by finishing second. Last year, he missed out on the Sprint race at the start by crashing with his teammate.

The temperature in the desert country at night is very cold, which seems to help the Mercedes and McLaren cars. The Other drivers in the top 10 are Pierre Gasly in eighth, Nico Hulkenberg in ninth, and Liam Lawson in tenth. Fernando Alonso was very impressive and finished 11th ahead of Williams driver Alex Albon. Valtteri Bottas was also spectacular and finished 13th leading Lance Stroll and Kevin Magnussen in 14th and 15th place.
Red Bull driver Sergio Perez had another disaster session as he got stuck in traffic and was knocked out of Qualifying 2. He will start 16th in tomorrow's Sprint race. Yuki Tsunoda was very angry with his team as they rushed him to the track without enough preparation, he fumed at his race engineer after finishing 17th during the Sprint Qualifying session.
The Last three drivers Esteban Ocon, Zhou Guanyu, and Franco Colapinto settled for 18th, 19th and 20th places at the end of the session. The Sprint race is very critical for both Ferrari and McLaren as they are in the constructor's championship fight. Red Bull is mostly out of contention as their driver Sergio Perez’s winning chances are very minimal for tomorrow's sprint race.
