Marc Marquez is currently looking for a place in a factory team after riding a satellite team for two years. Ducati's factory team might be his first preference but Marquez has emphasized that his decision isn't solely based on brand or color.

This statement seemed to suggest opportunities with teams like KTM, Aprilia, or Pramac Ducati. However, KTM Motorsport Director Pit Beirer has now addressed the matter. Following inquiries about signing Marc Marquez, he has responded by calling him a hero.

“Marc Marquez has been a hero for us in this sport since we competed in MotoGP,” Beirer told Motorsport-Magazin. “We have huge respect for Marc. But I don't think it's a realistic option for us. You have to think about what a brutal time Marc has had.”

Why Marc Marquez won’t change brand?

Further speaking about the possibilities of signing Marc Marquez, Beirer said that he doesn’t think the Spanish rider would change the brand. “I talked to him last summer and his desire was simply to find a motorcycle that he knew he could be completely competitive with”, he said.

“With this bike, he wanted to get back to the top and he achieved that. That's why I don't see him changing brands again, which would mean a completely new beginning for him. Marc is a brilliant rider, but I don't think it's realistic for us to talk about signing him”, he further added.

It’s worth noting that KTM has Brad Binder and Pedro Acosta secured for the upcoming season, while Jack Miller and Augusto Fernandez's contracts are nearing expiration. The focal point of the 2025 MotoGP rider lineup revolves around Ducati's deliberation on Pecco Bagnaia's teammate.

Gresini's Marquez and Pramac's Jorge Martin are vying to replace Enea Bastianini, with a verdict expected around Mugello, starting on May 31. KTM is cognizant that any rider left without a Ducati seat could become available in the rider market.
