The reigning champion Max Verstappen has achieved everything in Formula 1 by driving for Red Bull. Recently, they have not been nice inside the team as Red Bull is struggling with bigger issues in their car and are not allowing Max Verstappen to win races like it was before. Max also said the car he has is an undrivable monster.

This went to his father Jos Verstappen who in recent times has been very critical of Red Bull and its boss Christian Horner for not performing well. Though it seems new to many, there is a longstanding civil war between Red Bull boss Christian Horner and Jos Verstappen.

Many key personnel from the Red Bull team are left in recent months. Car designer Adrian Newey, Sporting Director Jonathan Wheatley, and Strategy Chief Will Courtenay all part of the championship-winning team have left Red Bull.

Jos Verstappen said, “This is what I wanted about. It can't go on the way it is. There is tension here while he remains in position. The team then says ‘Oh, it doesn't matter, we have someone else.’ But it's too many people leaving."

Everything started this season

At the start of the 2024 season in Bahrain Christian Horner was accused of misbehaviour with a female colleague. Horner denied these allegations and he was cleared. Horner replied to the comments made by Jos Verstappen over his allegations “I’m aware of the comments that were made. The team's focus is very much on defending the titles and the future. I’m not going to air all the discussions that are private between the parties.”

Jos Verstappen doesn't like Christian Horner to be in the leadership group at Red Bull Racing. But Horner has been in Red Bull since 2005 and is one of the senior employees in the organisation. There were rumours that Jos held talks with Mercedes boss Toto Wolff to move his son out of Red Bull for the 2025 season.

Horner fired back in the press “If Mercedes want Verstappen in their team then Jos is free.” Many don't have any idea about this internal civil war between Jos and Horner. But it's only up to Max Verstappen to take the final call of staying or leaving Red Bull.
