In the Azerbaijan GP 23-year-old Oscar piastri delivered one of the finest victories this year. The Baku GP was full of drama from the very first day. Red Bull thought they had dominance but failed to deliver yet again. Oscar Piastri handled the pressure very beautifully with the old hard compound tyres he stayed front making sure he was in the right spot to block the advancing drivers who were more experienced than Oscar himself.

This win has helped McLaren take the lead in the constructor's title and gives Lando Norris a great chance to redeem himself and win his first-ever Formula 1 title. Piastri, with only 18 months of experience at this level, won the race and earned his eighth podium in Formula 1. Former Formula 1 Race driver and winner Mark Webber has all praises after seeing Oscars Piastri’s win in Azerbaijan.

Oscar's Very quick and consistent

The whole year he’s been very consistent, very quick in all conditions and I think, yeah that was one of the best drives I’ve ever seen him pull off,” said Webber.

He also said beating a world-class driver like Charles Leclerc is magical. He says “Under a lot of pressure, very defensive in the move itself and up against a world-class driver - Charles around here is absolutely magical so to beat him here is a pretty big deal.

For around 31 laps Oscar defended his position from Leclerc. Charles had DRS (Drag Reduction System) most of the race which helped his car go fast in the straights. Oscar Piastri also proved his potential as a driver and answered his critics in the best way possible.

Oscar last won the Hungary Grand Prix after his teammate Lando Norris gave him the lead toward the end of the race. This started controversy everyone questioned McLaren for being biased. Piastri is the man who scored the most number of points in the last seven races. Piastri and Norris finished first and fourth in the Azerbaijan Grand Prix. This also helped Maclaren to lead in the constructor's tile after 2014.

Red Bull lost their constructors title lead after 847 days since the 2022 Spanish Grand Prix. Oscar is 91 points away from the championship leader Max Verstappen. His teammate Lando Norris is the only driver in the current lineup who could topple Max Verstappen’s 4th world title this year.
