Australian Formula 1 driver Jack Doohan celebrates his birthday as he turns 22 today. Jack is the most underestimated Rookie in the current F1 grid. For many years, Formula 1 has always been a European racing competition. In the last 20 years, it has become a global sport with many global audiences recognising the championship as the Pinnacle of car racing.
But still, there is a lot of European Domination in the sport. We can see the number of non-European Drivers in the 2025 F1 Grid. Jack Doohan, Gabriel Bortoleto, Alexander Albon, Lance Stroll, Yuki Tsunoda, Liam Lawson and Oscar Piastri are the drivers outside Europe. We have Franco Colapinto but he is also a reserve driver for Alpine. Out of 20, only 7 drivers are from outside of Europe.

Underrated Jack Doohan
Proving yourself as a non-European is very hard in Formula 1. Jack Doohan is in the most difficult position as there were speculations that Jack Doohan will have only 6 races to prove himself and after will be replaced by Colapinto for the rest of the season. It shows his team have no big expectations from Doohan this season.
We call Jack Doohan the most underestimated driver because of his team Alpine. They are not ready to give any time to the Australian as they already announced Colapinto as his reserve. Doohan's fellow Rookies Bearman, Bortoleto, Antonelli, and Hadjar have a full-season contract with their teams. Compared with them Doohan is no ordinary driver.

Proven Junior Driver
Doohan started his Karting career in 2012 when he was 9 years old and received his first Kart from the great Michael Schumacher. He won the Australian Karting championships in 2015 and 2016. He then moved to Europe to participate in the premier class tournaments like the British, German and Italian F4 championships.

The Australian driver was consistent in his junior championship events like Formula 3 and Formula 2 where he consistently scored points and finished on the podiums. He was noticed by the Alpine F1 team and was announced as their reserve driver.
Rookie under pressure
He made his Formula 1 debut at the 2024 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix where Alpine replaced Esteban Ocon with Jack Doohan. The 2025 F1 season will be the rookie season for the young doohan. He only has 6 races to prove himself and we believe the young Australian will prove his worth and win races. Happy Birthday Jack!
