In a dramatic race at the Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps, George Russell clinched victory at the Belgian Grand Prix, marking his second win of the 2024 Formula 1 season. The Briton delivered a stellar performance, leading a Mercedes 1-2 finish and holding off a fierce challenge from his teammate Lewis Hamilton in the final laps.

Russell executed a masterful one-stop strategy, which proved to be the key to his success. Despite the intense pressure from Hamilton, who finished just 0.526 seconds behind, Russell maintained his composure and showcased his racing prowess.

Meanwhile, Oscar Piastri, driving for McLaren, was another standout performer of the day. The young Australian driver showed remarkable skill and determination, joining the battle for the lead in the race's closing stages. Piastri ultimately secured a well-deserved third place, finishing just 1.173 seconds behind Russell. His podium finish highlights McLaren's competitiveness and Piastri's potential as a future star in Formula 1.

Ma Verstappen fails to get podium!

Championship leader Max Verstappen of Red Bull Racing had a relatively subdued race, finishing in fifth place. Despite not challenging for the win, Verstappen managed to outscore his closest rival, Lando Norris, who crossed the line in sixth place. This result allows Verstappen to maintain his lead in the drivers' championship.

Ferrari's Charles Leclerc put in a solid performance, finishing fourth and closing the gap to the podium finishers. His teammate, Carlos Sainz, ended the race in seventh place, further contributing to Ferrari's points tally.

Other notable finishes included Sergio Pérez of Red Bull in eighth place, followed by Aston Martin's Fernando Alonso in ninth, and Esteban Ocon of Alpine rounding out the top ten. Daniel Ricciardo, making his return to the grid with VCARB, finished just outside the points in eleventh place.
