F1 2025 Monaco Grand Prix FP1 Results: Charles Leclerc leads with P1, Verstappen and Norris behind

Ferrari driver Charles Leclerc came fastest in the FP1 session, his home grand prix in Monaco, with the fastest lap time ahead of Max Verstappen and Lando Norris.

Charles Leclerc continues his good form in the Monaco GP with the fastest lap time in the FP1 session. He is ahead of Red Bull driver Max Verstappen and McLaren driver Lando Norris. The 2024 Monaco GP winner finished with a laptime of 1:11.964s, while his teammate finished in P9. Earlier today, Leclerc and Stroll had a collision, which damaged his front wing.

FP1 Session Summary

The first practice session of the 2025 Formula 1 Monaco Grand Prix is complete, and native driver Charles Leclerc finished at the top. The Ferrari driver finished ahead of Red Bull driver Max Verstappen, who finished in P2. McLaren drivers Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri have finished in P3 and P5, respectively, with Williams driver Alex Albon splitting the two with a P4 finish.

George Russell had a good session as he finished in P6 for his team, while his teammate Antonelli is out of the top 10, finishing in P11. Lewis Hamilton had an average session, as most of the time he was fighting the traffic and ended the session in P9 ahead of Fernando Alonso. Carlos Sainz and Pierre Gasly are the other drivers who finished inside the points table with P7 and P8. 

The other Formula 1 drivers who finished outside the top 10 are Kimi Antonelli, Nico Hülkenberg, Isack Hadjar, Yuki Tsunoda, Oliver Bearman, Esteban Ocon, Liam Lawson, Gabriel Bortoleto, Franco Colapinto, and Lance Stroll. For the next session, the teams will be arriving with an improved setup for the next FP2 session in a few hours. They are also expected to practise different tyre strategies, as it is a two-pit-stop race.
