With Red Bull’s increasing on-track struggles, Ferrari team principal Frederic Vasseur remains cautious about a Formula 1 title fight. This comes after Red Bull was pushed outside its 'comfort zone' in recent races, especially since Miami.

Notably, Red Bull began 2024 strongly, with Max Verstappen winning five of the first seven races before the Monaco Grand Prix. However, McLaren and Ferrari, under Vasseur's guidance, are closing the gap. In Monte Carlo, Red Bull struggled with the track's bumps and camber, and the resurgence of McLaren and Ferrari has raised hopes for a potential three-way title battle in 2024.

While Vasseur acknowledged Red Bull's discomfort, he remains wary of making bold predictions for the season. While speaking with the media, he said, "I don't want to draw any conclusions from this weekend in Monaco, but if you look at the last two weekends, Max made more mistakes in Imola than in the last three seasons.”

“All races will not be easy”, says Frederic Vasseur

Further speaking about upcoming races, Frederic Vasseur said that he believes Red Bull will make a comeback and all races wouldn’t be that easy. "As soon as you have to push more, if you have to stay in your comfort zone for the strategy, for everything, you don't have to make mistakes, and I think they were in that situation - but I'm not drawing any conclusions”, says Vasseur.

"They will be back soon and be strong and I am not considering that all the races will be easy until the end. As soon as you are in a position where you have to pay more attention to detail, you have a kind of snowball effect - and this is part of the improvement of the last six or seven months”, he added.

Notably, the Formula 1 caravan will now move to Canada for the Canadian Grand Prix. This might be another pre-decided week considering the records of the track. However, this will be the time for Ferrari and McLaren to get back into the fray and aim at the championship.
