Multiple-time Formula 1 and MotoGP world champions, Lewis Hamilton and Marc Marquez made a big decision this year by switching to new teams for the 2025 season.
Next year will be a historic season in both F1 and MotoGP as we will see Marquez riding for the Factory Ducati team and Lewis Hamilton driving for Ferrari for the first time.
Personal Sponsors at stake
Because they are moving to different teams, they will now lose their sponsors. The Red Bull brand has been sponsoring Marc Marquez for many years since his debut in MotoGP. For the 2025 MotoGP season, the Spanish rider will ride for Ducati, which has Monster Energy as its prime sponsor. So, he can't have a rival brand as his sponsor, as he announced that he would break his partnership with the Austrian brand at the end of this year.
The Energy drink maker has been sponsoring the Spanish legend since 2008 and will end this year. But the MotoGP legend cleared that he won't have any personal sponsor while riding for Ducati. Marquez said “Out of respect for Red Bull, however, I won't have a personal sponsor. I want to thank the Red Bull family, and I hope we’ll remain friends.”
F1 legend Lewis Hamilton was in partnership with Monster Energy for many years. But now as he is moving to Ferrari he will lose his sponsor as the Ferrari team is tied with the Celsius brand. Celsius is an American drink brand that has an 11% share in the energy drink market. The company's worth is 19 billion dollars and annual sales of 1.3 billion dollars. Lewis Hamilton was tied with Monster for around 8 years.
The British driver is one of the 50 most marketable athletes this year. Hamilton has many partnerships with brands like Bose, Puma, Tommy Hilfiger, Monster, and Dior. Now, he will ditch his personal sponsor for his new team, Ferrari, from the 2025 Formula 1 season. Next year will be historic because we will see Marc Marquez and Lewis Hamilton in Red colours for the first time in their careers. Both legends are aiming for a championship win by moving to the best team on the grid.
