Emilia Romagna GP Pre-race predictions: Can Max Verstappen stop Oscar Piastri’s victory run?

The iconic Emilia Romagna Grand Prix this season could be the final race on the iconic Imola race track. As Formula 1 is getting more popular across the globe, having two races in the same country is not possible. One of the fan favourite and driver-demanding tracks on the calendar, Imola, could lose its place in the calendar, with Monza being the only race in Italy. 

If it's real, then the winner of this Imola Grand Prix will be in history. Who will win the Grand Prix of Emilia Romagna? Can Verstappen stop Oscar Piastri’s victory run in Imola? Check out our pre-race predictions for the 2025 Formula 1 Emilia Romagna Grand Prix.

Here are our pre-race predictions for the 2025 F1 Emilia Romagna GP

1. Max Verstappen wins Imola

The four-time world champion narrowly missed the pole position against Oscar Piastri. He has got that pace and winning mindset to tackle Oscar Piastri and McLaren. If the Red Bull finds the right strategy for today’s race, then the Dutchman can win the race. We are also very excited to see the race start, and let's see whether Max Verstappen can successfully launch a dive bomb at Oscar.

2. Heartbreak for Italy

Italian fans get ready for a heartbreak as the home team, Ferrari, and home hero Kimi Antonelli won't be inside the top 5 positions. The Tifosi were heartbroken to see their home team, Ferrari, getting eliminated from the qualifying. So, no Kimi Antonelli and Ferrari will be successful today. 

3. Williams and Aston Martin will take over

Surprisingly, the midfield teams like Williams Racing and Aston Martin drivers finished inside the top 10 in qualifying. They are expected to finish inside the top 10, as same as their qualifying results. The upgrades they brought before the Imola GP are definitely working. 

4. Multiple DNFs

Everyone knows the Imola is an old-school and driver-demanding circuit. Drivers need to be 100% precise with their driving, and even a small mistake can lead to a major accident. As the modern F1 drivers are so talented and aggressive, the same set of plans won't work here at the Emilia circuit. So we are predicting at least three DNFs in he main race.

5. Lando Norris on the podium

The British racing driver missed out podium opportunity in qualifying. But with the package McLaren is providing, Norris is expected to finish on the podium. The championship fight has now got inside the McLaren team between Oscar and Lando.
