Daniel Ricciardo is one of the most loved Formula 1 Drivers, but his time in Formula 1 has come to an end as the RB team replaced him with Liam Lawson for the remaining 2024 season. He was a very lovable person off the track, giving media interviews and press conference with all cute smile in his face. Let us see the biggest achievements of the Aussie star in his 14-year Formula 1 career where he took 8 grand prix wins for Red Bull and McLaren. 

Daniel Ricciardo's memorable achievements in F1

First Win at Canada 2014

Daniel Ricciardo won his first Grand Prix in Canada where he was the number 2 driver for Red Bull while the reigning World champion Sebastian Vettel was the number 1 driver. Ricciardo started sixth on the grid, while Nico Rosberg, Lewis Hamilton, Sebastian Vettel, Valtteri Bottas, and Felipe Massa all started before him. Daniel overtook his teammate during the pit stop and Lewis Hamilton's retirement pushed the Aussie on the front row. In the later stages, he moved further up and won his maiden F1 race. 

Belgium 2014

In the 2014 race at Spa Francorchamps, Belgium Daniel took advantage of the start when Mercedes Teamate Lewis Hamilton and Nico Rosberg made contact with each other. Sebastian Vettel ran off the track Ricciardo came to the lead and cleared all the threats from Ferrari’s Kimi Raikkonen, Mercedes Nico Rosberg, and Williams Valtteri Bottas to win at Spa. 

Hungary 2014

This was Ricciardo’s second win in his career in a wet-dry conditioned Hungaroring circuit. Sergio Perez crashed heavily during the race inviting a safety car. Daniel Ricciardo used the safety car period very effectively and swapped places. He bravely raced against Two world champions Lewis Hamilton and Fernando Alonso and finished first in the race claiming his second Grand Prix win in his career. 

Malaysia 2016

In Formula 1 they say 'your teammate is your biggest rival'. Making the quote true Daniel Ricciardo and Max Verstappen raced very hard to their core in a head-to-head battle. The title rivals Hamilton and Rosbergs both got in trouble after Hamilton suffered engine failure while Rosberg spun during the race. Then it was completely Daniel and Max show as both the drivers attempted for the win. Daniel Missed out on victory in Monaco but this time he was clear ahead of his young teammate and won his only win of the season. 

Azerbaijan 2017

The title Rivals Sebastian Vettel and Lewis Hamilton engaged in a heated collision after Sebastian lost his front wing to lewis hamilton during the safety car period. Vettel got a stop-go penalty for his actions and Lewis had an extra pit stop. Ricciardo made the most by winning his only Baku GP along with Valtteri Bottas and Lance Stroll.

 

China 2018

Ricciardo Delivered a perfect win for Red Bull Racing after starting the race in sixth and finishing first in a tough Shanghai circuit. He passed both Hamilton and Bottas and was 10 seconds ahead of the rest. This dominant performance handed Ricciardo the Chinese Grand Prix win. 

Monaco 2018 

Daniel missed Monaco GP victory previously in 2016 due to a tire change strategy error. But in the 2018 season, he started P2 and was leading the race very soon. But in Lap 28 drama started with MGU-K failure making him lose crucial performance and some gears. But then it was all mind and skill tests for Ricciardo. While having all the problems and intense pressure from Ferrari’s Sebastian Vettel, Ricciardo claimed his first win at Monaco GP. 

Italy 2021

In 2021 Daniel Ricciardo was racing for McLaren team and he was very new to the team. After the sprint race Ricciardo jumped from fifth to third due to Bottas penalty. Title Rivals Hamilton and Verstappen battled hard which led to a Collision in the second corner where Verstappen's car was on top of Hamiltons mercedes. This paved the way for the McLarens as both Daniel Ricciardo and Lando Norris finished 1-2 in Monza and gave McLaren a memorable victory in Formula 1. This was his last Grand Prix win in his Formula 1 career.
