Star Formula 1 driver Alex Albon is set to continue with Williams for a long time. Ahead of the upcoming Imola Grand Prix, Albon has penned a multi-year extension deal with Williams. This signing has rebutted all the rumors around Albon’s potential departure from the squad which he joined way back in 2022.

It’s worth noting that Albon’s previous contract was slated to end after the 2025 F1 season and with the new deal he is set to stay at Williams during regulation changes in 2026. In 2023, Alex Albon secured his best finish at Williams, claiming seventh place on two occasions

Transitioning from a brief tenure at Red Bull Racing alongside Max Verstappen, the Thai-British driver aligned with the former world champions. Despite Williams' recent struggles at the F1 grid, Albon's signing underlines the team's commitment to a recovery plan aimed at climbing the standings.

Alex Albon expresses his happiness after the deal

Speaking about the signing Alex Albon expressed his happiness and gratitude for the team management. "I am incredibly happy to be remaining with Williams Racing and to continue working with such a talented and dedicated team of people”, he said.

“This is a long-term project that I believe in and want to play a key role in which is why I have signed a multi-year contract. The journey will take time but I am confident we are building the right team to move forward and achieve great things in the years to come”, he further added.

As Albon's future secures with Williams, attention shifts to their 2025 lineup. Williams is in talks with "four or five drivers, contemplating retaining Logan Sargeant. Rumours suggest Williams may recruit Mercedes junior and F2 racer Kimi Antonelli.
