Amid the rising demand and excitement among fans for the IndyCar 500, Sky Sports F1 has made a significant decision to broaden access to the event. Recognizing the immense popularity and the growing craze for the race, official broadcasters will make the iconic race available to a much wider audience.

For the first time, the Sky Sports F1 YouTube channel will broadcast the Indy 500 live and free to anyone in the UK, allowing a broader range of viewers to experience the thrill of this prestigious event. Additionally, for subscribers, the race will also be broadcast on the Sky Sports F1 TV channel.

The decision to stream the Indy 500 live and in its entirety on YouTube marks a significant shift in how the event is shared with audiences. This move is expected to attract a brand-new and wider audience, opening the doors to many who might not have had access to the race before.

What is the schedule for the upcoming Indycar 500 race?

The 108th running of the Indianapolis 500 is set for Sunday, May 26. The broadcast will begin at 3:30 pm, building anticipation and providing pre-race coverage, with the race itself starting at 5:45 pm. An intriguing aspect of this year's event is McLaren's potential to achieve significant success on the same day in two major motorsport events.

Pato O’Ward will be vying for victory in Indianapolis, while earlier in the day, Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri will compete for McLaren at the F1 Monaco Grand Prix. This dual participation highlights McLaren's ambitious efforts to excel across different racing disciplines, adding another layer of excitement for their fans.

The Indianapolis 500, held at the iconic Indianapolis Motor Speedway, is one of the most prestigious events in the racing calendar. This year, the race promises to be thrilling, with Penske’s Josef Newgarden entering as the defending champion. His participation adds a competitive edge to the race, as other drivers will be keen to dethrone him and claim victory in one of the most coveted motorsport events.
