The first practice session is over, but there are still 2 more to go this season. In the first practice session we saw Lando Norris give a great performance in wet conditions. It was time for the second Practice session in the Maple Leaf nation and everyone was eager to see who would come out on top with the fastest lap on this day.

This time the racers would be happy that they finally had some dry weather during this session and they could now perform with slightly harder tyres. This was once again set to be another session to see how the track works and to see if the people are now used to the track in Montreal. Though this is only practice, doing well in these sessions gives you a lot of confidence going forward in the big Grand Prix race.

Alonso gets back some form

There are still some veterans in this season who have been trying to find some form this season. One of them is none other than Fernando Alonso. The two-time World Champion has not been in the best of touches in the season. However, this practice session saw the 42-year-old Aston Martin driver finish with the fastest lap in the session with a time of 1:15.810The next two fastest laps belong to another set of surprising inclusions in Mercedes George Russell and Alonso's teammate Lance Stroll. This was one of the rare moments where in-form Ferrari driver Charles Leclerc finished with the 4th fastest lap outside the top 3 and he was followed by Daniel Ricciardo who had a much better performance than the last Practice session.

Though there were some great results in the FP2 there were once again some extremely disappointing performances where Lewis Hamilton finished with the 7th fastest lap, defending World Champion Max Verstappen of Red Bull failed to make it to the top 10 this time and Lando Norris who had the fastest time in FP1 finished at the bottom in FP2. Overall this session gave us some surprising results and there is still one more left before we go into the qualifiers in Canada.
