The NBA on Thursday suspended Milwaukee Bucks guard Patrick Beverley for four games without pay to start the next season due to his behavior during and during the Eastern Conference first-round playoff series against the Indiana Pacers.

After Beverley "forcefully threw a basketball multiple times at spectators and an inappropriate interaction with a reporter during a media availability," the NBA confirmed the ban.

One day after Indianapolis police announced they were looking into an "NBA player and citizen" argument that occurred during the May 2 game—without naming anybody specifically—this suspension was imposed.

Beverley tossed a ball at fans in the final minutes of Milwaukee Bucks 120-98 Game 6 loss against Indiana, which eliminated the Bucks from the playoffs. Cameras saw him sitting on the bench and hurling a ball into the bleachers, striking a fan in the head with approximately 2 minutes remaining. After another fan threw the ball back to Beverley, who was putting his arm out for it, the Bucks guard shot it back at the spectator.

This summer, Beverley will be an unrestricted free agent after spending the season on a minimum deal with the Philadelphia 76ers and then the Bucks. He will lose around $90,000 as a result of the ban if he gets another minimum contract next season, which is expected to be $3.3 million, according to reports.

Patrick Beverley got one game ban

After the game, Beverley refused to answer Adams' questions in a locker room group interview. He said that it was because she didn't subscribe to his podcast. Beverley instructed her to move the microphone away from his face and finally asked her to leave the interview circle.

Beverley, who just wrapped off his 12th NBA season, has been banned at the end of a campaign before. He shoved Chris Paul in the back in the latter part of the fourth quarter of the Los Angeles Clippers Game 6 Western Conference finals defeat to the Phoenix Suns, which resulted in a blowout loss. He was given a one-game ban in 2021.

As a result, he served his ban in the season-opening for 2021-22. Beverley, who will turn 36 in July, started all six playoff games against Indiana and averaged 8.2 points and 5.5 assists.
