WWE Smackdown set to have runtime of 3 hours from 2025 (Source: X)
WWE Smackdown is set to have a runtime of 3 hours from 2025 in the Netflix Era. The move is likely to help the wrestlers in the blue brand who are highly talented but are not getting enough screen time to prove themselves. When Raw streams live on Netflix, Smackdown is set to grab the momentum as well.
On the 6th of January 2025, a new era is set to start in WWE. The first-ever WWE Raw show is set to stream on Netflix. No other premiere has had as big an attention as Raw's Netflix Premiere. Some of the biggest stars of the company like John Cena, The Rock, and Roman Reigns will be featuring in the show.
The night is set to have some big matches like Roman vs Solo Sikoa, Seth Rollins vs CM Punk, Rhea Ripley vs Liv Morgan, and so on. It will also be the start of Cena's retirement tour. A lot is arranged for the sake of the fans.
How the extended runtime would benefit WWE Smackdown?
Smackdown had a rough time from WrestleMania XL to Summerslam during the absence of Roman. In the period, not a lot of fans found enough motive to switch on the TV they otherwise would have. Things got interesting when the OTC returned. Things could get more interesting with the trade of wrestlers.
Some of the Raw Superstars like Drew McIntyre and Braun Strowman have been featuring on the blue brand which has led to more fans tuning in to the show despite the observable absence of Roman since the Survivor Series War Games. An extension of screen time could mean a lot to the wrestlers.
Some of the talents like Giovanni Vinci, Pretty Deadly, Legado Del Fantasma, and others have not got enough opportunities to showcase their talent in the recent times. Wrestlers and factions like those will be benefited with the extension of the show. Fans have called it the right move considering the talent present in the blue brand to be explored.
