WWE rumors: Which superstars are expected to return in 2025?

• Roman Reigns and Cody Rhodes have been out of action since the WrestleMania 41 weekend

• Goldberg, Alberto Del Rio, and Ronda Rousey are reported to have a run in WWE 

The WWE roster is one of the most stacked it has ever been. Thanks to an abundance of talent due to the various programmes in NXT and LFG and the emergence of the Indies, to those who have established themselves in the main rosters like Raw and SmackDown in their stories, the company has been having a boom period, irrespective of the creative booking and storylines.

Both men's and women's divisions are stacked with room for improvement in creative booking and storylines. The WWE roster would only get better due to the rumoured addition of some of the WWE Superstars who have been out of action for weeks, months, and years.

Some of the major superstars like Charlotte Flair, Becky Lynch, Alexa Bliss, John Cena, Aleister Black, and Rusev have already returned to WWE, while the likes of Rey Fenix, Ricky Starks, Jordynne Grace, and Penta have made their WWE debuts in the first half of 2025. Not to forget, the partnership between TNA and NXT has been very good, as usual.

Here are the WWE Superstars who are expected to return in 2025

Roman Reigns - The OTC was taken out by Seth Rollins and Bron Breakker on WWE Raw after WrestleMania 41. He could return in a few weeks or months to address Seth and Co.

Cody Rhodes - The American Nightmare lost his Undisputed WWE Championship to John Cena at WrestleMania 41. He could return to reclaim the gold in the next few weeks or months.

Goldberg - Goldberg is reportedly set to retire from WWE in 2025. His last match could be against Gunther, the lead-up to whose feud could start from Backlash till SummerSlam.

Alberto Del Rio - AAA's face and the former WWE Superstar, Alberto Del Rio, is reportedly set to return to the company. The star wrestler was a world champion when he was in WWE in the PG Era.

Ilja Dragunov - Ilja Dragunov suffered an unfortunate injury during one of his matches in the WWE Live Show in 2024. The former NXT Champion could return in the middle of 2025.

Ronda Rousey - As per reports, the Stamford-based company is interested in working with Ronda Rousey. She could potentially have a feud with Becky Lynch for the mid-card title.

Bronson Reed - Bronson Reed suffered a major injury in an attempt to deliver a tsunami from the top of the Survivor Series War Games 2024 structure. Like Ilja, Reed could return by the middle of 2025.

Tonga Loa – Much like Bronson, Tonga injured himself in the Survivor Series War Games 2024 match. The Bloodline 2.0 star could make his return soon to rejoin Solo Sikoa, Jacob Fatu, and Tama Tonga.
