Legendary wrestler John Cena arrived in Mumbai on Friday (July 12) to attend the wedding ceremony of Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant. The billionaire extravagant family function is being held at the Jio World Convention Center, with celebrities from around the world attending to make it a global event. 

The 16-time WWE world Champion touched down in India’s financial capital wearing a casual outfit - a grey tee, tan shorts, and a cap. He was surrounded by his entourage, smiling and waving at the paparazzi stationed outside the airport. In a video circulating on social media, some fans can be heard chanting his name to get his attention.

The wedding of Reliance Chairman Mukesh Ambani's youngest son and daughter of pharma tycoons Viren and Shaila Merchant will follow traditional Hindu Vedic rituals. The main ceremonies will commence on Friday with the auspicious Shubh Vivah.  

The celebrations will continue with Shubh Aashirwad on Saturday, and conclude with Mangal Utsav, or the wedding reception, which is the final event, scheduled on Sunday.

Kardashians, Nick Jonas among latest celebrities to land in Mumbai

Apart from Cena, reality TV stars Kim Kardashian and Khloe Kardashian also landed in Mumbai and received a warm welcome at the Taj Mahal Hotel. Bollywood actress Priyanka Chopra and her husband Nick Jonas are also in the city for the wedding bash.

Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, Rajinikanth, Kiara Advani, Vicky Kaushal, Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh, Ananya Panday, Janhvi Kapoor, Sara Ali Khan and Orry are also expected to attend the wedding. Indian and international political leaders and tech CEOs have also been invited to the function.

Meanwhile, 47-year-old John Cena recently announced his retirement from WWE. Cena, arguably one of the greatest wrestlers of all time, has confirmed that he will retire from the sport in 2025, with the Royal Rumble, Elimination Chamber and WrestleMania 41 being his last matches.
