'Who Killed WCW?', a docuseries which is based on the rise and fall of WCW, a rival company to WWE, is set to be released soon. The show has a total of 4 episodes which feature some of the former WCW Superstars like Goldberg, Kevin Nash, Bret Hart, Eric Bischoff, and so on in the trailer. According to the reports, the show is set to stream on VICE TV from the 6th of June 2024.
It is interesting to note that the show has executive producers like The Rock who is one of the most influential persons in WWE and Wrestling. He has invested in the docuseries alongside Vice Studios. During the promotion of the event, the final boss was in attendance. The 10-time world champion spoke about the former company and the learning he had from it.
The member of the Bloodline claimed that the rise (Not the fall) of WCW impacted him a lot. The Rock felt that 'The Final Boss' was being inspired by the show. "The rise of WCW, not the fall, inspired me greatly early in my career where I would eventually become, 'The Final Boss'," said Dwayne Johnson in the interview. The show has already received mixed responses from the fans.
'This will be the first real take' - Kevin Nash
It is worth noting that WCW was a sensation when at its peak. Some of the best Superstars in the world were a part of the roster. However, in 2001, Vince McMahon acquired it, which caused criticism from the fans. There is a different explanation from WWE given the the fall of WCW compared to those who were actually a part of the company.
Many feel that the show might not reveal 'Reality' as it involves The Rock in the production. However, Kevin Nash, one of the former WCW Superstars, claimed that the show has the first real take on the issue and not 'WWE Victor's version'. "No, we told our story. Not the WWE Victor's version. This will be the first real take," said Nash.
