Although the WWE Saturday Night Main Event with Cody Rhodes ended well, the aftermath was rather different. After a lengthy battle in which he successfully defended his Undisputed WWE Championship by defeating Kevin Owens, Rhodes was brutally attacked after the show and had to be taken on a stretcher out of the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum.

Triple H rushed out of backstage and grabbed the championship from of Owens' hands as he was shouting about it. A heated confrontation that swiftly worsened ensued. Before Triple H pushed Owens, they got into a heated argument and got in each other's faces. Owens, never one to back down, shoved back, and Triple H shoved him again, pushing him even harder this time.
Following Owens' confrontation with Triple H, Triple H refused to back down and the two got into a brief argument until Triple H had officials remove Owens to the back while he went to see how Rhodes was doing.

Is this the beginning of something very big between the two? The fact that Owens is prepared to fight anyone, including the Chief Content Officer of WWE, makes it obvious that he is not only aiming for Cody Rhodes. With Cody Rhodes' championship reign encountering one challenge after another, attention is now turning to what could be developing between Owens and Triple H.
