NXT had its Stand & Deliver event before Saturday's WWE WrestleMania 41. In the first match, Ricky Saints defended his NXT North American Championship against Ethan Page at the T-Mobile Arena. Ricky Saints made his first title defence against Ethan Page in the NXT North American Championship match.
Ethan Page, a former NXT Champion, demonstrated in this encounter that he understands just how to win the crown. Page dominated the Saints throughout much of the game. Page and Saints began by fighting outside the ring since neither guy was able to establish a decisive edge right away. After a while, the Saints gained control and began beating Page with chops to the chest and turnbuckle smashes.
Then he came down on Page with a clothesline after tightrope walking across the top rope. By slamming Saints across the apron and sending him tumbling to the mat outside the ring, "All Ego" reclaimed the upper hand. A powerful spine buster, followed by Michinoku's driver, didn't help the Saints win. Saints had the support of his fans in spades as he walked the ring, even adding his twist on the Undertaker's classic technique. Despite the "NXT" chants from the crowd, neither man wanted to give the other a significant advantage.
