The former WWE Tag Team Champion, Matt Hardy made a surprising return to a prominent wrestling promotion tonight, following his departure from AEW. Despite joining AEW in 2020, Hardy's tenure with the company concluded as his contract expired. Reports indicated that he was offered a new deal but opted not to renew with the Tony Khan-led organization.

With news of his free agency circulating, fans speculated whether he would make a comeback to WWE for a potential final stint. Hardy hinted at a possible return to WWE through enigmatic posts on social media. However, he shocked the wrestling community by appearing at TNA Wrestling's Rebellion pay-per-view instead. This marked the 49-year-old's comeback to the company, his first appearance since 2017.

At the TNA Wrestling Rebellion pay-per-view, Matt Hardy resurrected his iconic "Broken" persona. During the event, he confronted Moose in the ring following a blackout. Subsequently, the former WWE Tag Team Champion executed his signature move, the Twist of Fate, to take down Moose.

TNA engaged in preliminary talks about Tessa Blanchard's return

If the reports from PWInsider.com are to be believed they suggest that TNA Wrestling has initiated discussions regarding the potential return of Tessa Blanchard. Blanchard was released by TNA (then IMPACT Wrestling) in June 2020, during her reign as the IMPACT World Champion. TNA terminated Blanchard’s contract, allegedly due to her refusal to relinquish the title.

According to Dave Meltzer's report, Blanchard declined to travel from Mexico for TNA events amid the pandemic. Meltzer also mentioned that Blanchard proposed a "one-date price" to drop the title, which IMPACT Wrestling declined, leading to her termination shortly before her contract ended and consequent stripping of the title. Blanchard's stepfather, Magnum TA, disputed this assertion, stating that Tessa's request was not excessive. He indicated advising her to present a fair offer comparable to that of a top male star in TNA.
