On the second night of WWE WrestleMania 41, the first championship change of the event occurred as Dominik Mysterio gained gold in the third match.The nickname "Dirty" Dominik Mysterio was aptly applied on the second night of WrestleMania 41. On Sunday night, the son of WWE legend Rey Mysterio won the WWE Intercontinental Championship after defeating his stablemate Finn Balor from The Judgement Day in a brutal and chaotic four-way fight at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas.

The referee was counting the pin when Penta struck Dominik with the Mexican Destroyer, but Carlito dragged Penta out of the ring. Penta was pushed through the announcement table by Carlito. Bron Breakker, however, halted Carlito and instead stabbed him through the table. After they returned to the ring, Breakker struck Penta with the spear.

Dominik grabbed the belt and celebrated on the ramp following the bout. When the segment concluded, Dominik ran back down to the ring after Finn Balor had left, holding the belt up in the corner.
