Triple H unveiled a new 50-carat Diamond Championship at WWE Bad Blood. The WWE CCO claimed that it would be gained by the winner of a match featuring both world champions from Raw and Smackdown of the men's and women's divisions. While he confirmed that the titles would not be on the line, the fans were unhappy with the major announcement.
Triple H claimed before the show that there would be a big announcement. The fans were excited to hear what the head of the creative team had to say. He entered the arena with a loud pop from the fans and made the big announcement. He remembered his days as a wrestler in Atlanta.
The WWE CCO announced that Bad Blood was the biggest sell-out in the history of the company. He then made the announcement that everyone was waiting for. Hunter claimed that a new title would be on the line every year at Crown Jewel as a part of the Saudi Arabian business partnership with WWE.
Fans disappointed with the announcement
HHH said that the two world champions from both Raw and Smackdown brands would take on each other at Crown Jewel every year. He then unveiled the 50-carat Diamond title which received a crazy reaction from the fans. Both men's and women's champions will fight for the title.
While the fans in the stadium showed their approval for the announcement, the online fans seemed not too interested in it. They felt a mid-card title for the women's division was a better choice. Many claimed the idea of two world champions taking on each other to be bad.
In the men's division, Gunther and Cody Rhodes are likely to be up against each other. Likewise, scenarios could be interesting in the women's division where Nia Jax and Liv Morgan could take on each other. But the fans felt two champions going against each other with a decisive winner would mean the loser being made look bad and hence were unsatisfied with the announcement.
Here's how the fans reacted to the announcement -
Another title they will forget about as soon as the event is over, similar to this pic.twitter.com/IBxOU2pXS4

I never liked the trophy concept for this, King of the Ring, or Andre Battle Royal. They should be titles defended or reset yearly. Dope move!

“… Ok Hunter, so I swapped out the Women’s mid card title you had made, and instead had this made for the Saudi crap we do. Go out and make it sound like a good idea” pic.twitter.com/x1FH6LpAIs

Absolutely pointless. Will be cool matches, but where’s the women’s midcard titles?
