Trick Williams settled the deal with Carmelo Hayes in the main event of NXT Stand and Deliver 2024. The former NXT North American Champion main evented with the former NXT World Champion which became a history in itself. The former friends became the first pair of black Superstars to main event an NXT pay per view event. Trick had the final laugh as he beat Carmelo.
As the former NXT World Champion entered the arena, the crowd booed. On the other hand, Trick entered the arena to the chants of 'Whoop that trick' featuring ad libs of King Booker. As the match started, Trick aimed at taking out Hayes. For most parts of the match, he dominated Carmelo. The match unfortunately could not live up to the expectations.
It ended a bit soon than expected. The finish was not great. The buildup to the match was nothing short of sensation. At the start of the match, Trick chased Carmelo and went into the crowd. He beat the hell out of his former friend. Carmelo tried to escape from Williams but in vain. A full round among the crowd gave Williams momentum in the clash.

However, Carmelo made a return with his street smart skills. For a brief period, Hayes dominated Williams which led to concerns among fans. He got a steel chair to beat Williams, which backfired. The former NXT North American Champion got the control of the chair and initiated it on the former NXT World Champion. Just when the momentum seemed to be building, it ended a bit too early.
Williams brought his finisher move out of nowhere and pinned Hayes. It was a well deserved win for Williams. But given the hype for the match, it turned to be an average affair. Many matches that preceded to the main event turned out to be bangers. Regardless, it was a good performance from both Superstars given what was offered. It's interesting to see how the future of the duo heads from here.
