Top WWE heels and faces from Attitude Era till Current Era

Heels and faces in wrestling are the ones who play the characters of good and bad individuals. In WWE, Stone Cold Steve Austin and Vince McMahon were the top heels and faces of the Attitude Era. Likewise, in the Eras after that, like the Ruthless Aggression Era and the PG Era, John Cena was the face while Randy Orton and Edge were top heels.

The Attitude Era officially began after the infamous Montreal Screwjob at the Survivor Series in 1997. Following it, the fans naturally turned against Vince McMahon, who became the greatest heel of all time. To address his aggression, Stone Cold Steve Austin emerged. His biggest opponent was The Rock, who was initially a heel and became face after some time.

As Stone Cold and The Rock went out of prime and the company headed towards a void of Superstars in 2002, the Ruthless Aggression Era began. John Cena was its biggest face, and the likes of Batista and Randy Orton were secondary faces in different time periods.

Since February 2024, there has been a change of era with no certain name. In the period, Cody Rhodes has been the biggest face of the men's division.
