Cody Rhodes may have concluded his narrative at WrestleMania 40, but The Rock's saga with him isn't resolved just yet. The Brahma Bull engaged in a heated rivalry with The American Nightmare in the buildup to WrestleMania 40, to the extent that even Roman Reigns found himself somewhat eclipsed by the intense feud.
During the initial episode of Monday Night RAW following WrestleMania 40, The Rock directly addressed Cody Rhodes, asserting that upon his next return, he'll be targeting Cody. Reports from backstage further indicate The Great One's eagerness to clash with Cody Rhodes in their next encounter. The Rock has now affirmed via an Instagram post that he will indeed face Cody Rhodes upon his return.
In addition to extending congratulations to the new Universal Champion. The Rock said that When the Final Boss returns, he will be coming after him. The Rock's comments come in the wake of reports from Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, indicating that The Rock is inclined towards facing Cody Rhodes at WrestleMania 41.
“He would prefer to work with Rhodes in the main event of next year's Mania, and as we've seen, he is generally going to get what he wants. That would seem to lock Rhodes in for at least a one-year title reign. We are told is that isn't a lock, but Johnson would prefer it,” Meltzer had said.
The real MVP of the entire WrestleMania weekend was Seth Rollins: The Rock
In wrapping up his message, The Rock extended congratulations to both Roman Reigns and Cody Rhodes. He lauded Seth Rollins as the MVP of WrestleMania weekend and expressed his focus on the upcoming WrestleMania. The legendary wrestler also pointed out that all the training that he did before WrestleMania might be the reason that he has not picked up any injury.
“Just incredible and iconic and historic. I’m very, very proud of you, uso. And also, congratulations to who I feel is the real MVP of the entire WrestleMania weekend, Seth Rollins. What an honor it was to share the ring with you three. What an honor it was for us to break records, and now, my sights are set on the next WrestleMania. But that’s down the road, a conversation down the road,” the Rock said.
