Before it's too late, Randy Orton is still aiming for a spectacular matchup with a famous WWE figure, John Cena. Still in the prime of his career, Randy Orton is one of the finest and longest-serving WWE veterans. Despite this, The Viper still has many years remaining in the WWE. But the same cannot be true for the man he wants to play one more game with. Orton was aware that the famous bout was coming to an end, and he intended to win it before the "Time is Up".
Randy Orton recently answered a question regarding his remaining WWE career aspirations in an interview with Complex. One of those objectives, he stated without hesitation, was to face his iconic WWE match against John Cena one more time. Before Cena permanently hung up his boots at the end of December 2025, Orton thought it would happen. According to him, "For Cena and all of the history between us, I'd appreciate the opportunity to square off with him at least one more time before he hangs up his sneakers later this year," Orton said.
Randy Orton to face John Cena at Backlash
John Cena and Randy Orton have a rich rivalry history in WWE. Both wrestlers have made their name in WWE and have got legendary status to their names. With time, Orton and Cena face each other several times. The last time John Cena had a match against Randy Orton was in 2017 WWE SmackDown; since then, they have not faced each other in WWE events.
Randy Orton also can face John Cena, as Cena is still in the plan for WWE matches. They can face each other next month at WWE Backlash. The tournament will be held in St Louis, Missouri, which is Randy Orton's hometown. WWE Backlash may be the ideal venue for a last showdown between two of the greatest WWE stars of all time, with Orton as a babyface and John Cena as a heel right now.
