Penta was asked about comparisons with Rey Mysterio in a recent interview. The Luchador claimed his focus was to become the best version of himself, not to emulate Rey. He claimed Mysterio to be a legend, his role model, and his inspiration. However, Penta claimed his and Rey's Wrestling styles were different.

"I don't want to be the next Rey Mysterio, I want to be the first Penta El Zero Miedo in WWE because Rey Mysterio has my respect," said Penta in the interview. The star wrestler spoke about the difference in their styles and felt there was no need for him to be the next Rey. Penta showed the immense respect he had for Mysterio.

"Rey Mysterio is a legend, Rey Mysterio is my role model but I want to be the first Penta because my style is very different, my style in the ring is different from Rey Mysterio's. Rey Mysterio inspired me of course," added Penta in the interview. Fans were impressed by his maturity and agreed with his thought process.

Penta and Rey Mysterio's historic Royal Rumble performance

Penta and Rey had a great moment at the Royal Rumble where they entered the ring as the first two entrants. They became the first Mexican pair to start a Rumble match and made their country proud. Penta spoke after the match and claimed it to be a dream-come-true moment. He dedicated the moment to all of Mexico.

"The dream came true. Rey Mysterio, Penta el Cero Miedo. The first Royal Rumble of my career. For the first time in history, two Mexicans start a Royal Rumble. I’m very happy. Mexico, this is for you and all Latin America," said Penta after his maiden Royal Rumble appearance.

In his very first Rumble, Penta emerged as the Iron Man. Rey and Penta had quite a journey in Wrestling. The former AEW Superstar claimed Rey to be his idol and role model in thr past. He claimed Rey to be his friend now and highlighted the transformation of the relationship between them.
