Grayson Waller to break tag-team with Austin theory

Johnny Gargano will face Grayson Waller on this week's WWE Smackdown, and he is excited to vanquish his old nemesis. Gargano and Waller have a lot of anger towards one other, with Waller sending Gargano from NXT in December of 2021, and the DIY member stated on Smackdown Lowdown that he's excited to face Waller this week.

One of the most captivating WWE talents of the current period, Grayson Waller is quickly rising up the ranks and is never one to shut up. As per 411 Mania, “You know, me and Austin Theory have a bit of a complicated history,” Gargano said. “Me and Grayson Waller, it’s a lot less complicated. I hate his guts. He’s a piece of garbage. I can’t wait to beat the hell out of him.”

Dave Meltzer stated that WWE is preparing for a split

He continued, “Will that get us one step closer to the WWE Tag Team Titles? I hope so. But I am going to take some pleasure in just beating him up. That’s going to be awesome.” Grayson Waller and Austin Theory were awarded the new WWE Tag Team Championships following their victory at WrestleMania 40. Since then, the two have been heavily booked as champions.

However, on the May 31st broadcast of Friday Night SmackDown, Austin Theory faced Tommaso Ciampa. Tommaso Ciampa defeated Austin Theory when Grayson Waller unwittingly produced a diversion, leaving fans to wonder what WWE had planned for Waller and Theory.

While appearing on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer stated that WWE is preparing for a split between Austin Theory and Grayson Waller, with Theory serving as the babyface. We'll have to wait and watch when Austin Theory and Grayson Waller start feuding following their split, since fans may be interested in seeing them face off. The Smackdown programme airing live on FOX this Friday has Waller and Gargano going at it again.
