A former member of the Wyatt family has signed a new contract with WWE. The star was out of the business for more than 4 years. However, due to his latest situation in Pro Wrestling, WWE got an opportunity to sign a new deal with the popular wrestler. It is none other than Erick Rowan, who is known as Erick Redbeard outside of WWE.

The news comes following the return or one of the former Wyatt Family members, Braun Strowman. In the latest episode of Monday Night Raw, the big man returned to help Jey Uso. Rowan was a part of WWE from 2011 to 2020. His association with the Wyatt family was from 2012. He was a former NXT Tag Team Champion with Luke Harper.

Later when Bray Wyatt joined the trio, they came to known as the Wyatt family, who maid their debut in main roster in 2013. Much like The Shield, the trio took out some of the top Superstars of the time like John Cena, CM Punk, Daniel Bryan, and so on. Their initial stint lasted till 2014. The trio seperated as Bray felt it was to set Harper and Rowan free.

Star wrestler to soon return to WWE

The trio, however, reunited in 2016, with a new joinee - Strowman. By then, the initial trio was established as single characters. Rowan was a face and was a tag team partner with Cena. Their return saw Orton joining them. In April 2020, Erick was released by WWE due to budget constraints courtesy pandemic. He joined AEW in the months to come and was recently a part of East Coast Wrestling.

However, due to the new contract obligations, the company had to release Rowan. WWE seemed to have cashed in on the opportunity to recall their former employee. In the next few weeks, Rowan is likely to make his return to the company. Among the initial members of the Wyatt Family, only Rowan is alive. Luke Harper and Bray Wyatt passed away in 2020 and 2023 respectively.
